I wonder if you can really make money by entering a lot of contests. I suppose so, especially if you have a natural talent for…something…photography, writing, etc…?

by Terri ToonBack in the 50’s most mothers were homemakers and that was their job. They took care of their husbands and children leaving little for them. That was the way of life for homemakers then. The one thing they did have was “Contesting”. Homemakers would enter contests constantly for chances to earn money and prizes! It was a way for them to feel they contributed in some way financially to the home and also a way for them to become recognized for something other than their usual household duties, so really they did it as a hobby that served a couple of purposes.

Contesting faded away as women became more prevalent in the outside work force. The fact is though contesting never went away and many stay at home mothers are winning cash and prizes for entering contests today! With the internet it makes it really easy to find the contests that are currently running and because it has become a forgotten source of earning, it makes the odds of winning greater!

A wide variety of contests are being held every day which include Photography, Writing, Cute Kids Photos, Recipes and General Sweepstakes! When someone wins these contests they can earn scholarships for their children, money for themselves and prizes that range all over the board! Most contests are free of charge although some require a small fee. I like to stick with the ones that are free because it sits with me better knowing I did not pay to enter; however, I know that the contests who charge a fee are able to provide more winners each and every month too! So if you are a stay at home mother and have special talents of writing, photography or a great winning recipe that you could enter into a contest to earn cash or prizes, I say start today, you just never know, you could be the next winner!
