Learning to Love Others Well – Listen, Love, Repeat #BookReview

Are you looking for a way to love others well in your sphere of influence? Listen, Love, Repeat: Other-Centered Living in a Self-Centered World  is a new book by Karen Ehman that shows you just how to do that.

I was blessed to be on Karen’s Launch team (so fun, by the way!), and hear her share her heart behind this book.  I was attracted to the title of the book, alone!

Listen, Love, Repeat is a combination of personal stories from Karen’s experience in listening for “heart drops” and loving people beyond the norm, Scriptures, and prayers to help us love even those that are less…..easy.

If our perspective each day can be “I am in it for you” instead of “What is in it for me?” we will discover the joy of serving Jesus – without expecting anything in return and done only for and audience of One.

I think we all battle with a little selfishness in giving our time and resources from time to time (right?  It’s not just me?).  But listening for heart drops, loving on the people that serve us day-to-day – oftentimes with little to no recognition – and choosing to serve others without getting anything in return is so rewarding!

One of the chapters deals with loving on the “necessary” people in your life – mail carriers, delivery people, grocery store clerks.  I just found out yesterday that the lady that has delivered our mail for probably the last decade retired last weekend, and I feel like I missed an opportunity to love on her.  I am taking that to heart and being more intentional this year to love on others.

Listen, Love, Repeat is filled with practical tips and encouragement for loving others well!
