Intentional Marriage: The Art of Loving Your Husband {Review}

I have a confession to make.   I’ve had Intentional Marriage for a while now, and I’ve been MEANING to review it.  I haven’t done all 30 days in order, but I do find myself turning to it when things are….shall we say choppy in our house?

Crystal Brothers of Serving Joyfully wrote this book, and it’s set up like a daily devotional with a verse and a task for each day for wives to complete.  There’s even a space to record your thoughts, and how things went for that day.

From the Introduction:

“Slowly, one day at a time, we can reach a crisis point in our marriage, just by {not} doing the small things……This book is written for wives.  Not because I believe that all of the problems in your marriage are your fault.  But the fact of the matter is that focusing on your husbands faults breeds discontentment, and it in’t productive.  You cannot nag, pout, argue, or complain enough to change your husband.  What you can do, though, is change yourself.”

Oooh, don’t I know THAT to be the truth??
And the tasks aren’t difficult.  They’re things that we should already be doing, but in the busyness of kids/housework/work and other chaos we simply forget to do these things regularly.

If you’re ready to be intentional about strengthening your marriage, I recommend working through this devotional.  As a bonus, Crystal includes in the resources:

  • 101 Ways to Bless Your Husband
  • 101+ Free/Cheap Date Night Ideas
  • 101+ Conversation Starters

You can purchase this book on Amazon as either a kindle download or a hard-copy version OR you can buy it as part of the Ultimate Christian Bundle for just a few more days!
