Busy Momma? Here’s A Devotional Just For You

Who understands the busyness of being a Momma better than another Mom “in the trenches”?  “Putting on the Spirit: Ten-Minute Devotions for Busy Moms“, by Katie Horner, is a book written FOR busy moms BY a busy mom.

Putting on the Spirit is a 28-day devotional broken down into bite-sized chunks just for Mommas on the run.  The devotions are based on the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and each day has study of related Scriptures, questions that make you examine the lesson further (as well as how it pertains to your own life), and short lessons to help you apply each day’s “fruit”.

As I was working through this study, it became clear to me that sometimes we use busyness as an excuse for other undesirable behaviors ~ selfishness, anger, rudeness, etc.  By turning our focus intentionally on the fruit of the Spirit, we can overcome that feeling of entitlement to those negative behaviors.

I’m a New Living Translation Bible kind of girl, so I’m used to “patience” as one of the fruits whereas Katie chose a version that uses “longsuffering”.  That section was a little bit different from how I imagined it would be, but it was interesting to see it from a different perspective.

For this Bible Study, you need only:

  • a copy of  Putting on the Spirit (99 cents on Kindle through TODAY, 12/13, or you can win one of three PDF copies here)
  • something to write with
  • your Bible
  • either a journal/notebook or the free companion notebook available at Katie’s website, Paradise Praises.

It’s easy to stuff this in your purse or hide in the bathroom with it (which I may or may not be guilty of doing!).

I feel like this Bible study is something that I have been searching for for a very long time, and I am so grateful to have finally found it!

A Spanish copy of this book is also available on Amazon.
