I had heard the name “Lilla Rose” in the blogosphere lately, but I honestly didn’t know very much about the company other than that they had hair clips. It wasn’t until my bloggy friend Amanda did a review & a giveaway that I took another look at the hair clips.
As part of the giveaway, we had to select which clip we would want if we won. Oh. My. Goodness. There are a TON of clips to choose from!
Although I didn’t win the giveaway, Jennifer contacted me about doing a review of the flexi-clip.
Once again, I had to choose which clip I liked the best. (I think the one I had finally decided on for the giveaway was out of stock at that time).
Can I tell you that it took me a looong time to decide? They’re all so gorgeous!
I finally decided on the Etched Tiger Lilly – isn’t it pretty?
Before you place your order, you have to figure out which size best fits your hair type. To do that, you go here and read about the different sizes and/or watch the sizing video.
Based on the hair-type description, I went with the medium sized clip.
I wasn’t totally sure that I had selected the right size for me, and I’ll be honest – when I first got it I thought there was NO way it was going to be big enough.
The beauty of this hair clip is that the loops that you see are flexible….so they stretch a little bit, and it ended up being the perfect size.
Here’s what it looks like when you open it up:
I love that the two pieces are attached so there’s no losing one piece or the other (which I’m notorious for doing!).
Normally I’ll wear my hair in a ponytail or a messy bun. With either hairstyle, I find myself having to redo it several times throughout the day because the ponytail holder slips out and my “hairstyle” starts falling apart.
What I love about the flexi-clip is not only that I can do a hairstyle that can be either elegant or casual, but also that it STAYS in place.
Over the last several weeks I’ve really been putting this clip to the test. On the hot days of running around non-stop at our church’s Vacation Bible School (seriously – I lost 3 pounds just from all of the back-and-forth I had to do to do my jobs!), my hairstyle stayed in place and I didn’t have to mess with it.
My 7-year-old took these hair pics for me. The top part of my hair doesn’t normally stick up like that – he wanted me to lean my head forward so he could get a good picture of the hair clip at work.
Lilla Rose has a lot to offer other than just the flexi-clips:
Here’s another view from the website:
Aren’t those cute??
The flexi-clips range from $16 (most of them seem to be this price) to $23, with the Dazzling Sparkling Fireworks clip being the most expensive at $26.
These would make great gifts for Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day or even Teacher gifts! If you are a bride-to-be (ahem, my sister!) looking for bridesmaid’s gifts, this is a cute idea to look into!
