Sweet (and Easy!) Valentines Day Project

I love homemade Valentine’s day gifts!

A couple of years back my son (who was probably 4 or 5 at the time) and I made a sweet gift for my husband that he LOVED receiving from us.

We wrapped a tissue box with regular printer paper and wrote “How much do I love you?  Let me count the ways…..” on it.

Inside the box were folded up pieces of paper that each had something that we loved about Daddy written on it.   For example, “We love that you work so hard so we can be at home together.”; or “I love the way you roughhouse with me.”; or “I love how you make me laugh.”

I could tell that my husband was really touched by all of the things that we affirmed about him.

This is such a simple craft to make, yet very meaningful.  And parents ~ consider making this for your OWN children…..and see their faces light up when they hear all the little ways that you love them!

Make a family project of it ~ make up a box for each family member.  Between now and Valentine’s Day, each family member fills the boxes of other family members with sweet love affirmations.  But no peeking!  Everyone has to wait until Valentine’s day to read their love affirmations!

What a sweet idea! I think gifts like these far outweigh the store bought. :)
