I am SO stinking excited. Last year was my first year participating in the Ultimate Blog Party at 5 Minutes for Mom, and it was a BLAST, and I met a lot of great bloggers!
We like doing parties kind of BIG in our house. Birthday parties for the kiddos, their Baptism party…..they’re a big deal around here! There’s always a TON of food (everybody usually brings something), and we have a lot of fun. Here’s my party post from last year in case you missed the Meatball Delight or the Easiest Fudge Recipe Ever.
The only thing I don’t like is that we’re cleaning for about a decade before the party. (don’t ask me how that works out logistically on a yearly basis….) Seriously, we don’t have people over that don’t know and love us no matter how sloppy we are unless it’s right after one of our parties. ‘Cuz otherwise I wouldn’t let you step foot in our house. It gets pretty bad!
So a virtual party has got to be my next favorite thing – and one with PRIZES, even! ‘Course I’d love to win a doing-my-laundry prize, or cleaning-my-kitchen prize. Anyone? (Bueller? Bueller?)
Oh, and here are a couple other great reasons to love a virtual party:
- You can party while the kids are in bed (or otherwise occupied).
- You don’t need to get a sitter for it (though you could if you wanted to!).
- Awesome for those of you who are like my-mostly-introverted-self (letting your dorkiness show is more socially acceptable online – ever notice that?)
- You don’t have to see me dance. (This is a big one. Cuz it ain’t pretty. Trust me!)
- Oh, and my FAVORITE reason? I can eat all of the dessert myself if I want to. Now THAT’S my kind of party!
