Sink or Float?

You know, I’m really starting to believe that our best lessons are the ones that aren’t planned ahead of time. Sometimes it’s a struggle for my 5-year-old and I to get on the same page with this whole homeschooling business. He’s very good at taking an idea and running with it….

Here is what he’s doing today:

This actually started with him wanting to make a boat and float it in water.  He told me that first he has to test what sinks and what floats.  I have him making predictions first, though I have a very strong hunch that he knows what will sink and what will float, but the fun of playing with water is just too irresistible (confirmed by the fact that he said “well, my feet sink” as I turned to see him standing in the bucket!)

Too funny.   Well, I guess that goes to show me that it’s a whole lot easier when I just go with the float…erm… flow.  🙂
