In my Seeds of Faith post from yesterday, I talked about reaching the hearts of more children and praying for the children of the world.
One thing that our church has done the past several years is to participate in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program. People can pack shoe boxes with hygiene items and small toys for children of different age groups. There are collection centers all over the US. The shoe boxes are then flown to countries where children may not have the opportunity to learn about Christ’s love otherwise. Oftentimes the kids will be excited to receive their first Bible!
The collection week is in mid-November. You can participate as an individual, tell your church about the program, or even gather a group of friends together to make up a bunch of shoe boxes.
This program really speaks to my heart!
Don’t forget to read my post about Praying for the Children over on Seeds of Faith. I would love to hear your thoughts both here and over there.
Oh, and if you’re stopping by from iFellowship, welcome! So glad to have you here!
